Q: Is a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited a good first car for a teenage boy?
My lease is up on my car soon and I have been looking for cars for the past week. I have looked at the Mercury Mariner, Nissan Rogue, Mazda CX-7, and the Hyundai Santa Fe. My son will be getting his license in a few months and I don’t know what car would be best for him to drive.
A: Some would say too good.
My first car at 16 was 10 years old and had 130K miles on it.
Q: I recently purchased a Hyundai Santa Fe and was wondering how the alarm system worked?
I bought a 2009 Hyundai SANTA FE 2.7 GL FWD and it says it includes keyless entry/ Security Alarm System. I was wondering how to set it and how it works?
A: It’s a fairly simple system. It arms when you lock with the remote keyless entry fob or when using the power lock switch and closing the door. It monitors all doors and the hood and if one of those switches is interrupted, it sounds the alarm and flashes the lights for 30 seconds.
Q: What is the widest tyre size for 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe?
I am planning on getting 18″ rims and would like to get wider tyres. What is the widest tyre size that can be placed on the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe without affecting the speed or transmission.
A: 235 is stock so, 245 is the widest you’ll want to go I think. The 1st poster is wrong, this won’t damage your transmission/brakes/engine or whatever. The important thing is to make sure the overall diameter of the tire is the same as stock or it will throw off your speed and mileage readings by a couple %. check out http://www.tirerack.com As you will see, the Limited Santa Fe came with 18’s, I’m not sure if you have the GLS that came with 16’s, so obviously the Santa Fe can handle larger rims straight from the factory even. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compare1.jsp?loadRank=2&width=245%2F&ratio=60&diameter=18&vehicleSearch=true&startIndex=0&search=true&pagelen=20&pagenum=1&pagemark=1&performance=SSTAS&performance=HAS&speed_rating=S&speed_rating=T&speed_rating=U&speed_rating=H&speed_rating=V&speed_rating=Z&speed_rating=W&speed_rating=Y&speed_rating=%28Y%29&RunFlat=All&x=51&y=7
Q: What is the cheapest price possible to get a new hyundai santa fe gls basic?
Im planning to buy a new 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS as basic as come. Can someone that already buy one can told me the best price that they get. So far I get 18,995 and 19,995. Im looking if someone get a better price.
A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net
Q: What size of speakers fit in a 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe?
I wanted to know what size of speakers to buy for my 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS V6. Please specify sizes for the front and for the back. Thank you!
A: Well, you’ve got different sizes in the front and back and maybe even 3-4 sizes total if you have a premium soundsystem from the factory. For reference purposes go to http://www.crutchfield.com and you can find out what speakers etc you can use and compare models.
Q: How to replace fog light on 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe?
How do you get to the fog light on a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe to replace the fog light bulb? I have searched online and found instructions that you have to remove the main light first which I did, but I still cannot figure out how to get at the fog light. I can just get my hand down to the back of the fog light box, but cannot remove the fog light box or get the light out.
Detailed instructions would be nice from someone!
A: more than likely you will have to remove the front bumper cover to get access to it. Then you pull the socket outof the lamp. Change bulb if it is blown.
Q: How long do you think my 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe would last?
I just got a 2003 Hyundai santa fe as a gift from my uncle. Of course, it is his old car and it has 117,000 miles on it. How much longer do you think I will be able to maintain it. I don’t drive it very often and when I do it’s not very far. (P.S. He also just put new brakes on it)
A: i would say 150 to 160 thousand miles IF uncle did regular maintenince and IF you do as well, it also depends on were you live strating a car engine when its 10 below is hard on the engine as the oil gets very thick, now in florida cars last longer then in chicago
Q: I have a hyundai santa fe and The alarm remote is broken How do I disconnect the alarm so I can drive it?
this is a factory alarm on a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe. The remote door lock sets the alarm and the unlock button disengages the alarm. the lock button works on my remote but the un lock button is some how broken. when I use my key the alarm goes off and I dont know how to stop it. please help.
A: Open door with key. while the alarm goes off, get in the car turn the key into ignition to ON position and wait until alarm goes off. once the alarm is off, start counting 30 seconds (on the clock). should the alarm start beeping again…keep counting to 30 seconds, disregard the reoccurence. once 30 seconds passed, turn the key to start the engine. once engine started, the alarm goes into Valet mode. alarm will be reactivated back to normal only when you use again the lock button on the remote. must follow these steps LITERALLY, otherwise you have to start all over again.
Q: How do I put my 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe into overdrive?
I am going to be driving from Florida to Pennsylvania. I heard that putting your car into overdrive saves gas. I can’t figure out how to shift it into overdrive. I have a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe. Any help would be appreciated,
A: your overdrive in your hyundai is built right into your regular drive, so there is no way to put it in overdrive, it just naturally does it. so there is nothing you really need to worry about it, also doing highway driving at speeds of about 65-75 get really good mpg results
Q: How do you change the wheel of a Hyundai Santa Fe 2004 model?
The right back wheel of my Hyundai Santa Fe was punctured and I’ve removed the bolts and such and tried to remove it but it won’ come out, I really need to get this working fast as I have work. If anyone has ever experienced this before and would like to share your help, please do. In my view, the wheel looks like it’s weld onto the axe.
A: if you don’t know how to change a tire, don’t drive.
Q: Is a 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe over 100k Miles reliable for a college student?
I am planing on purchasing a 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe, but the only thing it’s over 100k miles.
I’m in college and i have to drive about 4 hours to school form my home and i wanted to know if anyone knew if it would be reliable?
A: Assuming it is automatic transmission, the main issue with a vehicle with over 100K miles is the tranny deterioration. Check that and see if it shifts smoothly with out any slipping or jerking. I think Santa Fe’s are pretty reliable cars. Also as with any older vehicle, get it inspected by a good mechanic for engine leaks, worn timing belt, chassis damage etc. this should give you a good idea if you want to get it or not.
Personally if I were driving 4 hours to school, I would look for a car well under 100K. Good luck
Q: Is the 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe LX a good vehicle to own?
I am looking at a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe LX and I’ve never owned one before. Does it get through snow pretty well? Does it need to be repaired a lot? Is it comfortable to drive on trips?
A: I don’t have any experience with a 2004 model, but I do own a 2001 LX and I love it. I’ve had no issues in snow (using the “shiftronic” feature helps tremendously on going down ice/snow covered hills). As for repairs, I wouldn’t say I’ve had alot, but I did have my transmission go out last year about about 145k miles. That’s been the only “big ticket” repair I’ve had to do with the 155k miles I’ve put on it. I’ve taking mine on many trips, and it’s more comfortable to drive than any of the rentals I’ve driven. Even when fully loaded down with multiple coolers, tents, and assorted camping gear in addition to 5 adult passengers, it was a tight squeeze, but somehow we made it work (a friend’s car broke down and we ended up hauling them and all of their gear back home in addition to ours).
Q: What are the chances that Hyundai will come out with a hybrid Santa Fe in the next few years?
I’d like to purchase a Hyundai Santa Fe but I also want to be conscious about the environment. I could go with a Ford Escape hybrid but the reviews aren’t that great.
A: If you are considering a hybrid to try to “save” money, guess again.
The price of the lithium battery far exceeds what the car will use in fossil fuel. Not to mention replacing the battery costs more than it is worth.
Hyundai has no current plans to produce a hybrid. The main reason is that Hyundai has such a huge warranty. The hybrid batteries have a very short life and Huyndai does not want to get stuck buying new batteries under warranty.
Simple buisness.
Q: How do you activate the garage door opener (in the mirror) on the Hyundai Santa Fe’s?
I have a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe, and I have a garage door opener option on my review mirror. How can I activate this? Anyone know?
A: You push the home link button first and hold it. It will flash slowly a red light on the mirror. A second after, point the garage opener to the mirror (home link) and push the open button. You have to hold both, home link and garage door opener buttons pushed until red light starts flashing fast. It takes approx 20 second with both buttons pushed simultaneously to program home link.
Q: Does anyone know when the Kia Plant in West Point, Georgia will build the Hyundai Santa Fe?
I heard that the Hyundai Santa Fe is going to begin production at the West Point, GA plant Kia recently opened. Does anyone work for Kia in West Point or Hyundai in Montgomery and know when it will be opening?
Thanks.
A: I work for Hyundai and to my knowledge, it is probably within the next 6 months to already begin Santa FE production at KIA plant in GA. Hyundai can’t keep up with demand for Sonata’s and they have decided to dedicate the Alabama plant solely for Sonata models only.
