Q: GMC Acadia?
Is the GMC Acadia a full or midsized SUV? Is it larger or same size as trailblazer and envoy? Any preferences between these or equinox and why?
A: The Acadia is called a crossover, basically a suv on a car frame, which allows the vehicle to handle great. The Acadia is a 3 row crossover, seats 7-8. I bought one on new years eve after looking at a lot of vehicles. I traded in my 2004 Grand Cherokee & couldn’t be happier. The Acadia is large & has a lot of power, plus I’m getting better mileage than with the Jeep. If you are in the market for a new vehicle, I would highly recommend that you take a look at the Acadia
Q: I want to buy a GMC Acadia for my business and take advantage of the SUV/Truck tax incentive?
This is per IRS AJCA of 2004, section 280F, and section 179. The problem is the Acadia is NOT built on a truck frame. It meets the Gross Vehicular Weight of greater than 6000 pounds, but it is sketchy in the IRS rules of whether or not it is elegible for the 25% first year deduction. How can I tell if the GMC Acadia qualifies for this IRS deduction?
A: I’m not aware of any SUV “incentive”, especially under Section 179. Actually, there is a DIS-incentive for SUVs in Section 179 that limits Section 179 deductions on most big SUVs to $25,000 regardless of the price paid. If the Acadia is over 6,000 lbs, it’s in the restricted group.
Q: Can I sell my 2007 GMC Acadia if I still owe money on it?
I am in the process of divorce and left with a 2007 GMC Acadia with $15,000 left on it. Would it be better to sell it privately than trading it in? It’s in excellent condition and has roughly 32,000 miles on it. Which would be better in the long run. I figured maybe if I sold it privately, what I make from it pay off the loan and any left over use towards a used car.
A: You can get values from Kelley Blue Book. Go to www.kbb.com. Input all of the information about your vehicle. Use the trade in value to give yourself an idea of what you might be able to sell it for.
You can sell the vehicle but have to pay off the loan to get the title to the buyer. If you are going to need a vehicle why sell the one you have?
Q: Does anyone know why a brand new GMC Acadia would have rust on the exhaust system?
I bought a new GMC Acadia about a month ago. I love the car, but I noticed that the exhaust system seems to be rusted. I read the review on other Acadias and someone else mentioned this. Has anyone had it corrected yet?
A: is it really rust? or does it just appear to be? Sometimes poor quality tubing can turn a rusty color after some high heated trips.
If it is rust give your local GM dealership a call and ask if they have addressed any recalls or TSB’s (technical service bulletins)
Q: Is the GMC Acadia suitable to endure harsh snowy winters?
Reviews of the Acadia/Outlook/Traverse/Onclave do not evaluate the abilities of these large CUVs to handle harsh snow. I’ll be moving to Timmins, ON, Canada where winters are quite harsh and wanted to get ready for it this year. Once equipped with snow tyres, would the Acadia be able to handle snow? It does not have a 4×4 system, just FWD or an AWD. Any members who owned these during winters, your feedback would be most appreciated.
A: I have a 2008 Acadia SLT AWD. I live in western Pennsylvania & although our winters might not be as bad as yours, it still gets bad here. I have not had any problems with getting around in my Acadia. I love it!!!
Q: would the saturn outlook, GMC acadia or subaru tribeca work for a family with 4 kids?
i have three kids, but may have another within the next few years. would any of the above vehicles be spacious enough for 4 children? thanks so much!
A: I’d say arcadia, the tribeca has no room in the back seat for friends, and the saturn outlook doesn’t hold that much gear
Q: Should my brakes on my new 2008 GMC Acadia be making squeking noises from the inside when pressed?
Everytime my I press my brakes they make loud noises. I’m sure that you can not hear it from the outside. But from the inside the brakes are making squeking noises. They have already replaced the suspension and struts on my new SUV. And also when I pull in my driveway or go over a bump I still hear noises from the truck. They tell me this is normal.. Is it?
A: DUDE we have the same problem with our 2007 Chevy Silverado! The brakes were bad and we were pissed! We had to take it in. They fixed it for free. You know, sometimes these things happen. It’s really frustrating but it does happen.
Q: Whats the best way to drain the coolant in a 2010 GMC Acadia?
In a big hurry (in the freezing cold) I put about 1/2 gallon of non-freezing washer fluid into the coolant recovery tank! A stupid mistake… Should I drain the entire radiator and add new Dex-Cool that the owners manual recommends?
A: The best solution is to go ahead and drain/refill your cooling system with the proper coolant and with the right mixture for optimal freeze protection for your location (you did mention it was freezing). I personally would not worry too much about it as you only filled your overflow reservoir with the washer fluid and not the radiator itself. I would remove the overfill reservoir and drain it into a container, then reinstall the reservoir and fill with clean dexcool/water mixture. The ingredients in washer fluid is water, blue dye, and methanol, which is just an alcohol and will evaporate when it gets hot, which shouldn’t cause any long term effects. Make sure to dispose of the washer fluid/coolant in an environmentally safe manner (take it to a mechanics shop, they should take it for nothing) and good luck!
p.s.- The reservior I believe is only held in by 2 10mm bolts from the top, so removal should be fairly easy.
Q: What date does the GMC Acadia or the Saturn Outlook go on sale?
I know they are supposed to go on sale this fall, but I don’t know the date. I’m really looking forward to seeing these on the road. What day or month do these cars go on sale?

A: Yes. There is the SLE and SLT. There are also some equipment groups you can get that put some options together and discount them.
Q: How many miles to the gallon does a gmc acadia get?
A: I own a 2008 GMC Acadia SLT-1 AWD with approx. 1500 miles on it. I am currently getting 13-14 mpg. I don’t have many miles on it, & have not put any highway miles on yet. It is a fairly big vehicle & I think the milage is pretty good
Q: Does anyone know if a regular wheelchair fits in a Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Acadia?
Hi, I´m interested on buying either one of this trucks, but I like to know if a normal size wheelchair can fits in the trunk, without folding the seats. I have already seen boths SUV´s and I personally think itdon´t fit right.

Q: GMC Acadia and an infant car seat?
Anyone have a GMC Acadia and an infant? How easy is it to get the car seat through the door?
We are in need of a new vehicle. We have a four month old and I have a 2005 Grand Am. Very hard to get the infant seat in the Grand Am as the door doesn’t open too wide and putting the seat into the middle of the back seat is difficult. Looking for an option other than a mini van and love the style of the Acadia. Any input would be welcomed. Thanks!
A: I love the styling of the acadia as well, and though i dont own one, im sure it has plenty of room for a newborn baby and all the parafanalia. but you may want to look into the saturn outlook, it is basically exactly the acadia but much cheaper, and if you dont really need the 8 seats of the vue/acadia, there are even smaller cheaper, but still just as nice choices out there, like the new 08 saturn vue, or the new ford edge, or the new 08 toyota higlander, hope that helps, and congratulations on the baby!
Q: Which is better the GMC Acadia or Yukon Denali?
I like both, but I’m having trouble deciding on one. Both have their pro’s and con’s but I want other opinions before I buy anything.
